Real-time Multi/Partial Coherence Measuring Tool (RtMCOHR)

At the real site with some noise or vibration issue, it is sometimes difficult to find out the noise and vibration source, or to derive the transfer function from the noise source to the estimating point. Especially, in case there are several noise sources here and there. To find a noise source related to the estimating point, you usually try to measure correlation or coherence between two sensors located at the estimating point and a likely noise source point. But, if there is more than one noise source at the site, you cannot derive exact coherence or correlation you expected. In such a multiple-noise space, it becomes harder to identify the noise source or to analyze them quantitatively. The more noise sources, the less correlated between sensing points, and it ends up like there is no correlation anymore.
To get accurate coherence in these cases, you need to allocate enough number of sensors which correspond to the number of noise sources, and measure it as partial-coherence or multi-coherence.
The multi-coherence measuring software, called "RtMCOR", runs on Redec DSP system "Ex_Tool", and offers real-time coherence measurement.
